I (Bob Meli) spoke to Angelo Cerbo at the Troast Club in Hackensack on February 9th, 2011. He told me he attended Hackensack schools up until the early 1940’s. Angelo Cerbo joined the service in 1944 and served till 1945 in the Navy and was a Seamen 1st Class. He served on board the U.S.S. Rolette AKA -99 which is an Attack Cargo Ship. 
Attack Cargo Ships are responsible for transporting tanks trucks dozers etc. during an invasion. 
      
Angelo’s brother, Alfred "Fred" Cerbo, Sr., also served during World War II in field Artillery with Patton’s Army during the Battle of the Bulge.  Angelo’s younger brother, Aldo Cerbo, was in the service during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan.
